After graduating from the University of Connecticut in 2012 (BA, BS) and 2013 (MA), Sarah taught middle school Social Studies and served as the PreK-12 Social Studies Curriculum Specialist for the Portland Public Schools. Sarah is passionate about designing curriculum that engages students in inquiry, analysis, and exploration of the world beyond the classroom walls, and she currently serves as the K-12 Instructional Supervisor of Technology for the Wethersfield Public Schools.
As a National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow, Sarah traveled to Antarctica aboard the National Geographic Explorer with Lindblad Expeditions in December 2017. The Grosvenor Teacher Fellowship program is a professional learning opportunity for PreK-12 educators from across North America made possible by a partnership between Lindblad Expeditions and the National Geographic Society. Since returning from Antarctica, Sarah has served on the National Geographic Connecticut Advisory Council, presented to colleagues and community members across the state, and collaborated with the CT State Department of Education to further geographic literacy and develop opportunities for student inquiry aligned the C3 and National Geographic Learning Frameworks.
